Workers / Holiday
Holiday procedure
The holiday year runs from 1 October to 30 September. Days you have built up have to be taken inside that year. They do not roll into the next one.
- Give at least seven days’ notice before the first day off. If you want more than a week, the notice needs to be twice as long as the break. Two weeks off means four weeks’ notice.
- You can only book days you would normally work. A Monday-to-Friday pattern does not turn Saturday into a paid holiday.
- Sick days and bank holidays are not added on as automatic paid leave.
- You can ask for as many days as you like. Pay only covers what you have accrued in the current holiday year.
- Holiday pay is sent the Friday after the week the leave falls in.
- The client still has to agree the dates. A form on its own is a request, not a confirmed week off.
Questions about your own balance go to the branch, or to [email protected]. That inbox gets busy. You will get a reply, not always the same day.
